Writing: Inscribed: ‘the inscription…is defaced and very imperfect.’ (Worsley)
Condition:
Decoration: ‘The hero is lying on the lion’s skin with the skyphos in his r[ight] hand and a wine-skin in his l[eft]; quiver and club are near him.’ (Michaelis). The relief ‘resembles…one of the Oxford marbles in the Arundel collection.’ (Worsley)

Location: Brocklesby Park: ‘most of the Yarborough and Worlsey marbles seem to be in the sculpture Gallery behind the house.’ (Vermeule 1955 p. 131)
Collector(s): Sir Richard Worlsey; Worsley’s collection then passed on to the Earl of Yarborough at Brocklesby Park (see Michaelis pp. 115-117).
Date collected: Found by Sir Richard Worsley at Athens in 1785. ‘On the sale of the Appuldurcomb[e] property the collection formed by Worsley was removed to the Earl of Yarborough’s seat, Brocklesby Park…’ (Lee p. 37)
